Can two-factor authentication (2FA) be set up for the control panel?

Two-factor authentication is a security procedure in which a user identifies himself with two different and independent characteristics. Enable two-factor authentication to increase the security of your login. You no longer need only your password to log in, but also a mobile device that you select.

You can enable the feature in the profile settings (accessible by clicking on the username in the top right corner) in the Control Panel.

Once two-factor authentication is enabled, you will be prompted to enter a secure, random token during login. You can retrieve this token using your phone's Google Authenticator application, for example.

Important: We recommend that you keep the recovery codes displayed during the 2FA setup in a safe place (e.g. password manager or printed out in the safe).

In addition to two-factor authentication, it is possible to restrict access to the Control Panel to certain IP address ranges only. To do this, you will find the option "IP Restrictions" in the menu on the left, which you can use to enter the public WAN IP address of your router in order to restrict access to the Control Panel from your network.
